The fact that there are fakes and forgeries for sale on the internet is well known to everyone. And the fact that a large number of them are sold there because the buyers do not know that they are forgeries is also a known fact. That is why a new Facebook group has been created where contributors can post information about any forgeries, fakes or fraud attempts they find on the Internet. And it doesn't matter whether they are regional advertising or auction portals or portals with a global reach. Even on eBay there are many fraudulent offers. You can check out the group here:
Padělky na aukro, ebay filatelie, poštovní známky, numismatika, mince | Facebook
Not only fraudulent offers from the field of philately, but also from all other collecting fields can be added to this group. Numismatics, notaphily (banknotes collecting), art, paintings, antiques, old prints and books, vintage cars, you name it.
We would like to ask everyone not only to become member of the Facebook group, but also to contribute actively when they find something suspicious. Posts can be in any language; the important thing is always to link to the page where the suspicious item is being offered and of course a short explanation of why you believe it is a scam or a forgery. All collectors will be grateful for such contributions. It's a never-ending battle, new and new scammers will always arise, but for many collectors such a notice can save a lot of money.
