In February, the traditional stamp auction took place at the Dr. Reinhard Fischer auction house in Bonn, Germany, and many interesting stamps were offered. However, three of them exceeded all expectations and set price records that will probably not be surpassed so easily.
These stamps had auction lot numbers 8928, 8929 and 8930. All of them were in ** quality.
Lot number 8928 has the catalogue number Michel 46II and a catalogue value of 18.000,- However, it was sold for a whopping 74.000 € after a long bidding battle.
Lot number 8929 has the catalogue number Michel 47II and a catalogue value of 18.000,-. It was sold for 82.000 €.
And thirdly, lot number 8930 has catalogue number Michel 48II and catalogue value again 18.000,-. This specimen was sold for 92.000 €.
These are auction results that no one expected even in their wildest dreams. And yet they were achieved. In the case of collectibles, it is enough for only two bidders with sufficient financial resources, who are very interested in the object, to come together at auction, and the resulting price breaks all records.
These 3 examples were last sold at the HBA auction in 1997 for 25,000 DM = approx. 12,500 EUR. That's a nice appreciation!
In any case, at this point we must congratulate the auction house Dr. Reinhard Fischer and the original owner of the stamps sold, as well as the new owner for acquiring these rarities.
